Growing up in the coastal area of Gloucester, VA, and attending school at Radford University, Michael may not have crossed paths with Verigent. Lucky for him (and for us!), Michael’s sister worked at Verigent during our early days of growth. As a college student, Michael secured a summer intern position at Verigent; he was such a natural fit he jumped in headfirst as a full-time sourcing agent for us right after graduation. Says Michael, “From when I started as an intern the office had doubled in size and even had to move to a larger office space!”

Six years later, Michael’s preparing to transition from his longtime position as a Verigent recruiter to our coveted sales team to cover the Carolinas region. “I’ve been looking for a new challenge,” explains Michael, “and I wanted to get more involved on the client side. It’s a natural progression to move into sales.” Michael’s grateful for the opportunity to participate in Verigent’s Sales Training Program which is designed to help set him up for success in his new role. “I’m used to dealing with existing accounts,” he explains, “so developing leads and nurturing new business is something I’m going to have to grow into.”
Aside from the people he works with and unlimited growth potential, what does he like about working at Verigent? “You can dictate how much you earn because of our uncapped commission structure,” he explains. “You get out what you put in. The harder you work, the more money you can earn.” It’s something Michael says sets Verigent apart in the industry. And that hard work has paid off: Michael was recently able to purchase his first house. He says his experience at Verigent over the past six years has been a highly positive one. “It must have been pretty good or I wouldn’t have stayed this long!” he laughs.
“People are our product which makes it a really interesting industry,” says Michael. “It’s so rewarding, though, to actually help people that work hard for us.”
