Will is a born-and-bred New Yorker. He’s a few months into his first role at Verigent and it’s a pretty interesting one: Will is a quality assurance analyst and project manager for a large-scale wireless upgrade program in The Big Apple. “My duties change daily,” he explains, but they allow him the opportunity to work in the field, attend to warehouse work, and spend time in each of the five boroughs of New York.
“I’ve been in the phone industry for over 20 years,” explains Will. “I’m pretty good at troubleshooting and I pick up on things quickly. That’s made me an asset for companies.” In addition to his decades of experience, Will also holds various leadership certifications, an Advanced Wireless Technologies certification, and an Advanced Help Desk Support certification as well.
So, how did Verigent link up with Will in the first place? “[My recruiter] Matt saw my resume online and told me about the position. I was actually between roles at the time. I’d been looking to get a job in New York so I knew I’d be more than happy to take it on.” Not only is this Will’s first assignment with Verigent, it’s essentially his first-ever time in a contract role. His thoughts? “It’s been a really good experience with Verigent!” he says. “Matt has been very responsive to my feedback about everything, jumped on it right away. That kind of attention from Matt makes me feel like Verigent is on my side.”
When he’s not working on his current project, Will loves playing chess, mastering video games, and spending time with his stepson, Daniel, and his wife, Luz. Perhaps most admirably, he’s also a credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor, offering services through his church. “I’m very involved in my church and the community,” says Will.
